teaka the famous chihuahua with nonno!

several years ago, teaka the famous chihuahuas’ nonno (grandpa) suffered a severe heart attack.  he was rushed to the hospital and had to undergo emergency quintuple bypass surgery!

as he recovered, little teaka was by his side day and night to assist with his healing.  later, teaka’s nonno became one of the healthiest men on the block, golfed three times a week, went to the gym twice a week, ate a super healthy diet, was loved by his dear wife and two lovely daughters and he felt the healthiest he had ever been!

so the next time you get that soothing warm feeling from the mere presence of your chihuahua, just remember that it is truly beneficial to your health in more ways than one!  love your chihuahua and they will always love you back.  has your chihuahua helped you heal from an injury, disease or disorder?  send us your story to share with chihuahua lovers everywhere!

5 years ago my husband was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma that was stage 4 and had spread to his liver. His liver enzymes were elevated but steadily have gone back down and he has been stable for a awhile. My chi started having issues with her hair falling out so I took her to the vet and her liver enzymes are elevated.

I know many people believe this is just folklore or superstition but I believe that chi’s are canine illness sponges.

  • Hi! How did the author get reliable data on the amount of heart attack survivors that own chihuahuas?

My chihuahua can sniff out infections. She can also sniff out cancers like melenomas and also just lick a sore achy spot like an arthritic joint. She knows if I’m depressed, she knows I f my blood sugar is low,she tells me in advance if I’m going to have a seizure! Chihuahuas do all of this naturally, without any special training.

I had a long hair silver Chihuahua her name was shadow Lynn Marie and she was the sweetest little dog ever I had named her shadow because she was always right by my side all of the time I would take her everywhere with me too when I would go hiking I would put a blanket in the backpack and then I would put her in it and zip it up but not all the way though cuz she like to stick her head out of it and her front paws so she could see too and when I would go out on the snow machine I would put her in the front of my coverall bibs to where you just her little head was poking out and she loved it too that little sweet dog was the best I was in a mentally and physically abusive relationship and I have seizures too and when I felt like I was going to have a seizure that little girl would come and curl up right next to my chest or stomach and it would help me calm down and relax enough to where I could control my breathing to get my heart slow down my little shadow Lynn Marie save my life that’s for sure and I lost her five years ago and I still miss her like crazy and wish she was still here with me.

    THANKS

My baby girl Tiffany has been by my side for since i was 14 [I’m 17 now] and I always felt alone and a bother to everyone until i got her as a birthday preasant from my grandma. Ever since, shes been my shadow and curls up with me at night, easing my lonliness and saddiness. Because she had ‘small dog syndrone’ where she thinks shes bigger than she is, she likes to chase cars, lawn mowers, weed eaters, squirrels, and other things. She’s a gentle dog, wont even bite a person unless they get to close to her humans. Oh! She says hi by the way!

Our Princess Tiana has truly been a blessing to us. She is smart and gentle, and adapts well with our special needs child. Love our Children.

  • I will be sending my story soon but my little chi came into my life during a long and difficult physical and emotional recovery. I would literally spend a week without leaving the house. Now I’m up and out 4 times a day. The extra walking helps Physically, and the companionship has greatly improved my emotional well-being.
All pets are a gift but the best thing about chis is they don’t pull me down, and a 15 minute walk makes him happy and isn’t too long for me to walk. I think it’s a match made in heaven and I’m officially a chi convert!
