“sleeping cutie”
rosalina o’neal, aka “rosie” is an adorable famous applehead chihuahua from is fredericksburg, virginia. here is her story as told by her proud mommy, cindy o’neal:
“my sweet rosie is a very special little chihuahua. she was only 17 ounces when i bought her home and my husband actually thought she was a stuffed animal until she started to move!
rosie loved many things, especially my husband. as a baby, she loved to play with his socks and she would always run to greet him when he came home from work. she also began a ‘popcorn eating routine’ where she would sit between us on the couch and eat popcorn one piece at a time.
my husband’s health began to deteriorate and he had to ride a scooter to get around, but little rosie found a way to make it fun! she continued to run to him when he came home from work, except now he would stop for her so she could get on and ride along with him. sadly, my husband passed away and rosie has not been the same since. one night i made popcorn and put it on the couch next to her, but she wouldn’t touch it. it must have been a “daddy” thing.
rosie is now 14 years old and is starting to lose her vision, but that doesn’t stop me from loving her with all my heart. thank you god for bringing this wonderful little creature into our lives.”
